The Shaw 550 is a departure from the Shaw sportsboat stable of moderate hull forms: an Open-style day sailer. The hull shape is designed for high stability and safety with a reduced crew of one to three.
The Shaw 550 has a small cabin, simplified rig, a roller-furling jib, lifting centreboard and twin rudders.
It is designed for day sailing or club racing, with capability for inshore or lake cruising for adventurers.
The first two boats are currently under construction.
